GWR Modelling and Heritage Information

This page is devoted to pages providing information that will be useful to modellers and indeed to anyone wanting to get GWR details right on, for example, heritage railways. The links are to model railway layouts, discussion forums and a variety of other interesting links.

Station Colours is a great site for anyone looking for the correct livery and colours for GWR rolling stock and architecture.

Great Western Study Group – promoting and encouraging interest and research in all aspects of the GWR. Incredible resource.

GWR Layouts on the Web is a great site, showing some completed layouts, others under construction

Swindon Drawings is a part of Jim Champ’s website, much of it devoted to other matters. A great selection of original Swindon drawings of locomotives, carriages and wagons, most of which are at least close to 4mm scale so really useful for modellers.

GWR Modelling is a great site, offering the new and experienced modeller of the GWR information on more than 25 layouts, listings of models, discussion of issues such as liveries, new kits and  a host of other items. Well worth book marking

Making Signals Work: useful couple of pages. It even covers how to make them ‘bounce’ like the prototype. Photos and quite a bit of descriptive text.
